Fly for kids tent

Hi all.

Just wanted to share some pics of the fly I've had made up to put over the kids tent on our Onyx.  Simple as anything and made of 8oz canvas so it folds up to almost nothing.  It keeps things heaps cooler inside the camper and offers some added protection in the rain.  It attaches to the last two D eyelets on the roof of the camper where the solar blanket attaches.  It also extends 300mm up under the solar blanket so rain can run off and not go between the solar blanket and the fly.

Only cost $180 from a local canvas guy but i think it will keep the kids tent in good condition for years to come.

That is an awesome idea. Do you have the dimension or the pattern? I would love to get something like this for the kids. That section can end up like a sauna on the hot days.

Cheers

Hi there.

This is the sketch I sent to my canvas guy. Like I said in the post above, he knocked it up out of 8oz canvas in the same colour as my roof.  Pretty simple.  Might be an idea to check the measures against your camper but I cant see why they'd be any different.  Then i just got a couple of short aluminium poles and a few extra ropes.  Works a treat.  I'm a big fan of setting fly's and tarps up to allow for rain run off so maybe 3 poles would work better like the pic.  I haven't found that the design needs any tweaking.
